This week’s Illustration Friday topic is “wrinkles“, so I thought I’d post a sketch of an upcoming cartoon I have in the queue.
I already have a gag in mind for this but it definitely could be better, so post your idea in the comments area below! The winner will get the original sketchsigned by yours truly!
So you know… my sketches are in pretty high demand these days… you could easily turn around and sell this for $1.50 on ebay. Easy money kids!
Here’s a page from the old sketchbook. I like to keep my sketchbook open on my desk and doodle stuff here an there throughout the day, it helps to keep the creative juices flowing. Here’s my latest page that was created with a few different types of felt tip pens I like to play around with.
Here’s a character pose from a recent project. The client had en existing cougar character that was in need of updating, as well as adding a few new poses to the mix to help liven up the place. Super Charlie here is the mascot for a Pool League team, and this is his “super” pose.
After looking at it again with fresher eye’s I think I might have made his top front fist about 40% larger to really add some extreme dimension and pop him off the page better. I should do that.
This week’s Illustration Friday topic is “Speed.” And as the turtle sketch below suggests, speed is relative. Sometimes your clients don’t see it this way though. Slow speed is still speed! Don’t discriminate!
Video Run Time 3:45 - Here’s another video demo of me drawing, this time the subject is one of my cartoon dog characters. I’ve been scoping out the digital camcorder scene, what a deep pond of water that is. After a bit of research I’ve got my eye on a few models, the Panasonic PV-GS300 in particular. Enjoy the video and if you’ve got a comment or suggestion, I’m all ears! (click here if you can’t see the video below)
Here’s a character sketch of a Jazzy saxophone player who’s part of a poster design I’m working on this very second. It’s been a pretty busy week and I’m feeling guilty for not posting so I thought I’d throw this guy up. The poster is for an arts festival down in Florida, there’s a bunch of other cool cats from other art genres in the piece as well. I’ll post the final art later this week… probably a “before and after” post because, well… I dig it.
I enjoy watching other artists draw stuff so I figured I’d dust off the old video camera post something of my own. There’s no audio… maybe I’ll get brave enough and slap a mic on for the next one… Enjoy! (click here if you can’t see the video below)
