The Drugs I Need
Oh man, this one of the best parodies I've seen in a long time. The writing is excellent and the characters flat out rock. It's a little animation taking some pot shots (no pun intended) at the pharmaceutical industry. It was created by the talented folks over at The Animation Farm and presented by Consumer Union and JibJab.com. This is definitely a must see folks.
"First we learn that Vioxx increases the risk of heart attacks. Now, we learn that Merck may have had research, as early as 2000, that uncovered these problems, but didn’t make it known to the public. It is time to end this secrecy. ..
...Listen to our new song, for a lighter take on the serious issue of drug safety, but then come back here and take action. A project of Consumers Union, publisher of Consumer Reports."

drugs and capitalism … science and progress … marketing and health … funny cartoon … but a liberal cliche. a comedy cliche too. My favorite version of this comedy bit of “side effects may include” is SNL’s Super Happy Fun Ball. “Do not taunt, super happy fun ball.”
