Stupid Email of the Week

Some days it’s just not worth chewing through the restraints. And before you ask, yes, this is a real email and this person is sincere (if nothing else).

why are you charging 15 dollars for a tiny picture of a squirrel .. is there some kind of special feature to it or animation because i see no real value in this at all.?? Do you have a LOT of people actually buy this?? Im sorry but i see this as a rip off and unfair to people that actually work for a living instead of selling tiny pictures to people for unfreasonable prices. And no im not one of those people that sit at home all day and complain but im looking for a picture to get a tattoo of a squirrelll but cant print this one out without paying 15 dollars for it? do u draw these yourself cause i just found one exactly like yours for free on another website if so so goodluck trying to make money on petty things.Free file sharing should be the way to go..thats what the internet is all about these days.. get a clue

For reference, this is the cartoon squirrel picture she is talking about.

Heh. “I want to put your picture on my body permanently, and I love it so much it’s worth exactly zero to me to be able to do that.”

Wow. I hope she pays more than $15 for the tattoo. Unless it’s done by a hack it’ll cost 15-20 times the price you charge for the royalty-free, unlimited rights to the image. Something tells me this may be a teenage girl, one who’s in for a bit of a rude awakening.

Lovely. The “actually work for a living” bit is priceless. I’ll bet she isn’t a big patron of her local art museum.

Seems to me that she is looking at your squirrel as a mass-produced retail product. Your “competition” in value is anything she can buy at Walmart for $15.

It is easy to see why “starving artist” is axiomatic, if not just redundant. :)

People can be so naive. I wonder what she “does for a living” because I bet she wouldn’t give you her services for free. Maybe you’ll see her in the McDonald’s drive-thru and not only can you ask to see her way-cool squirrel tatoo, but maybe she’ll up-size your fries for free!

I love your art. Wish more people could understand the talent behind the computer screen…
