How To Create Anything in 2 Steps – Create Something!

I-Ming's latest blog post is a good one and has me thinking that there are basically 3 types of people online:

  1. those that consume
  2. those that move existing things around
  3. those that create

Number 1 and 2 combined outnumber 3 immensely I think. Sure, you might be a combination of 2 or more of the above, but what is it that you do more of? Consume, Move or Create? Not enough people are creating stuff. Too many are just moving other people's stuff around. What have you created lately? (link to it in the comments!)

Here's an excerpt from I-Ming's 1 Second Creation post:

HOW TO CREATE ANYTHING
1. START BY DREAMING. Create it in the Spiritual, imaginative places. Form it in your mind.
2. Simply usher it into reality like a doctor would a fully formed baby.

Read the entire post here, and be sure to follow him on twitter... he's one of the fun ones :)

I’ve been creating websites for the last few months, mostly just to write and also to help people along the way for all the people under #1 :) Would love to do more artistic stuff, but with kiddos I’m limited to water paints and crayons!

I reckon I’m a mix of 1 & 3. I try to create a lot but end up ‘consuming’ mostly.
I recently got a graphics tablet so I created this: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1150/3172081172_721c884cfc_o.png
It’s a (admittedly not-brilliant) spoof of God of War (a videogame, how original). However, practice makes perfect.
I only found this blog by chance (I Googled ‘Drawing muscles’) but it seems really interesting. I think I’ll have more of a look around.

Hi skinnyeddy, thanks for stopping by and sharing your creation! It took me quite a while to get used to the tablet so don’t give up.. it takes everyone time. One thing I found that helps with tablet pen control is to use felt tip nibs in your stylis pen. I wrote a post on it a while back, you can check it here if you’re interested.

Fitz, I love your blog. Very cool.

I’m a combination of 1 and 3. One observation someone made of me was “oh, you do things.” Yes, I guess so.

Here’s something I made by using an existing object (a bathroom drain) to create something new.

And, here are other things I have created. I don’t really make money from this stuff, but it keeps me sane.

I’ve been doing 1&2 way too much and have been revving up to do more 3’s again. :)

#2 often makes more money than #3.

    Distribution > Content Producer

    I’ll keep creating.

I think plenty of people create on the internet. #2 is kind of creation. new things are remade and reimagined all of the time. if you’re remodeling a website that counts i think.
