Another cartoon illustration in the Cody series for Etnus' magazine advertisement campaign. This time poor Cody finds himself up "the creek" without a paddle, thanks to the lovely pair of cartoon alligators just below the surface. I remember when we were creating this piece, we were considering making the water brown to further relay the message of what kind of creek exactly cody was up. In the end we didn't feel spelling it out further was necessary.... we figured the audience was smart enough to get it.
This illustration was created using pen and ink cross-hatching on 2-ply bristol, scanned in and digitally colored using Photoshop.
